My installation cd(xp) is broken, i had dumped it on my
HD though, i had only one patition (C:). Now i need to
create another patition or at least increase the space on
C:(which is presently just 4G).How do i do that? I have
almost 15G unpartitioned.

The only way you can delete, create, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows XP installation, is to use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com).

Hi, Daniel.

Can you boot to your existing WinXP? If so, go to Disk Management and use
that to create a new partition (or an extended partition and a logical drive
within it) using some or all of your 15 GB unallocated space.
