Monitor Scrambles

Petals357

I am haveing trouble with my monitor. Sometimes it will scramble and i will
need to do a hard boot and restart the computer to make it all come back to
normal again.. sometimes it will happen on start up then maybe 30 mins after
start up, or over night i wake up and its scrambled. Its a gateway computer
with windows vista home premium, AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4000+,
32-bit operating system, 896 MB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE , 19 in.
Widescreen. I have updated all drivers i went to the NVIDIA website and no
new drivers are available. Could this be my monitor or something wrong with
the motherboard? Or the Fans? Has anyone had this problem?

Check the fan on the graphics card and if it's dusty then clean it up with
compressed air.

Really? Gee, thanks for the great info. You sure are smart.

Did you ever think that people will be having the same problem with
similar systems for the next year or two? Ever think someone might just
want to read a 6 mos/ 1 yr/ or older post looking for info on how others
fixed their system problems? I'm thinking that's why they don't purge
these forum threads like..... forever.

My post wasn't to the last person, but to everyone in the future who is
searching for info on this problem.

I understand that you're upset because Mr. Buck wasn't as diplomatic about
your post as he might have been. But the fact is that while you wanted to
be helpful, you are not posting on a real forum as you think you are and
you didn't quote any of the thread to which you are replying. You are using
a web interface that leeches Usenet posts and most of the rest of us are
using real newsreaders. We don't see what you do. Only someone else using
that particular web interface would see the post to which you replied.

If you want to participate in Usenet, the better way is to set up a
newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you information about
that below. If you prefer to use a real forum, then here are two excellent
ones:

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.

I just ignore these replies for the distant past, as I know Malke will be
there soon to give his very well written canned response.

You probably should be told that Malke is not a "he"... something I
would have thought you would already know.

There's really no reason Mr. Davis would know that I'm not a guy. We've
never met, although I always enjoy and respect his posts. I'm not sensitive
about people assuming I'm a guy in newsgroups. It's no biggie. Now if they
thought that *in person*.... ;-)

Well I guess I just relearned a lesson about assumptions. My apologies
Malke...

Now my brain is working on how to reconcile a woman and elephant boy into a
single mental image.
