Monitor refresh rate

In XP under display settings etc I have my refresh rate set at 75 Hz yet my
monitor itself says it's at 60 Hz.

If I pull that hard drive and use my Win98SE HD and have my refresh rate set
at 75 Hz the monitor says it's at 75 HZ.

Anybody have a clue why I have this problem in XP? The monitor is an
Optiquest V75 and the card is an ATI 8500.

Interesting! What does it read in the registry under Enum, etc, Crhoff?

Don't know what I'm looking for, don't seem to see anything related to
monitor resolution or refresh rate. Could you be a little more specific.
