Monitor recognition prob

On XP Pro - cannot get my 2nd pc to realise its plugged into a samsung
syncmaster 700s crt - it just sticks with default monitor ?

Download the newest drivers from the samsung website and see if that helps.

i'm sure win98 had no problem finding it

they have a 710 driver - not sure if its any good for me
the crt is an old one - from 1998

and the 710 driver isnt for xp

Try going to the Samsung web site, and downloading the drivers for Windows
2000 (Windows 2000 drivers often work with Windows XP). It doesn't look
like Samsung wrote drivers for Windows XP. If there isn't a driver for the
700s, try the closest model number...
