Monitor Problems

What do I need when the desktop is too big for the screen
of a monitor on a laptop. It's like the desktop won't fit
the actual screen of the monitor, therefore I have to use
my mouse to move it up and down to the appropriate parts
of the screen. (If this makes any sense, I know it sounds
strange). See I just reinstalled Windows XP because my
computer crashed, and as luck would have it I had to buy
the full "Home Edition" because I lost my Reinstall Disk
that came with the actual laptop. At any rate, the Windows
I installed is acting as though I have a HUGE screen.

Go into Control Panel|DISPLAY|SETTINGS
Increase the resolution to 1024 X 768, and see what that does.
