Hi,
The monitor on my desktop automatically switches off everytime windows has
finished loading, and wont turn on again. The computer itself if ticking
over fine, but I cant see anything. When I use safe mode the monitor stays
on. Has anyone any ideas why it would do this or how I can put it right?
Thanks

In Safe Mode: Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button
find your video card (under 'Display adapters') and double-click on it >
choose the Driver tab > click on Uninstall > chuckle at scary warning >
click OK back to the desktop > restart your computer.

Windows will detect your video card and install a driver. You can stop here
or you can go on to the video card manufacturer's web site to obtain the
newest driver, which you will install by following the manufacturer's
instructions very carefully.

I had one that did that, if you have an older BX chipset motherboard
and a newer agp video card that can happen. Some do work but not all.
