Monitor - No Sync, then goes black

Instead of my screen saver coming up when the computer has
been idle for so many minutes my monitor goes black and
will display "no sync" for a few seconds then just go
black. When I hit a key or move the mouse the password
protect dialog box comes up (as it should) and the
computer resumes as it should. I just re-installed w2k,
before re-installing I had no trouble with the screen
saver. Im currently dual booting w2k w/w2k.

your computer is probably hibernating or in standby mode, and not sending
any video signal to your monitor. that's what the no sync message usually
is. Right click your desktop, choose Properties, and select the Screen Saver
tab. Select the screensaver and wait time, then click the Power button.
Change the times to something acceptable for you. Click OK twice.
