monitor connections to my machines shares

Hi all, wasnt sure if this was the right place to start but best guess
is that it might be. I work in a tightly knit group and we have all
shared out our machines to one and other in the event that some
emergency requires us to access something thats not saved to a network
share (but on a peer machine).

Anyway, we have agreed to trust one and other to not go snooping, but I
am a firm believer in the school of thought that says "trust but
verify" and I am wondering if there is someway via scripting that might
alert me in someway or maybe write out to a history log when someone
(remote to me) connects to a share on my machine. I dont want to
prevent anything, just want to maintain an awareness.

Anyone have anything like this in script that a novice like me could
pick apart?
-thanks and happy holidays [Festivus for the rest-of-us!]
