hi,
i was wondering if there is a way to turn down the
brightness of my monitor to save battery time. I have a
vaio laptop, and im not sure if this site is only about
windows xp and cannot help me. thanks.

Hi Mollie,

If you look on your keyboard at the F-keys (F1, F2, etc.,) that F5 or one of
those keys near there has an indication for a brightness setting. Try
pressing the FN key on your keyboard (usually down by the left CTRL button)
and F5-- or whichever of the F keys has the brightness indicator-- and the
brightness should decrease. Multiple pressings should lower the screen
brightness down to it's lowest limit.

Alternatively, the button next to it should have the opposite effect should
you require the screen to be brighter.

Let us know how it works.
