Monitor blinks

My flat screen blinks for few minutes and finally goes to sleep in
"power save" mode. Basically, it goes between stand by (blank, no
power) to blank (power on with no display) every 2 seconds. This
behavior starts when power save activates and lasts about 1 minutes in
total and finally the monitor goes to sleep (blank, no power). Perhaps

my video card is sending the mix signal? I have Dell 1905 flat with
Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 (OEM??). I don't remember seeing this with my
old CRT. I'm worry that this behavior will shorten the life of my
monitor. Other than that, I have no other issue with this setting.

Hi,
Doesn't sound exactly right to me either.
Do a web search (Google), and see if there are newer drivers for your video
card, and your monitor. Many more knowledgeable than I strongly suggest
*against* going to MS Update for example for the newest drivers. Go to the
manufacturers web-site when ever possible.
