Monitor blackening out

For some reason, my monitor is blackening out on me... that is, all I see is
black. I think the computer is still on, becuase I need to hit the off
button twice to get the pc to reboot.. (so that's once to turn it off, and
once to turn it back on). There is a wire in the same area where the hindges
are that keep the monitor from falling, keeping it up.. Sometimes I can press
this gray rubberized covered wire and the monitor will flicker back up and I
can see my monitor background, folders, etc, but at times it just cuts out...
this computer hasn't been used for 2 years and I just had it repaired and am
using it again. Should I get anew battery? Should I have the light in the
monitor looked at? THnks. DougM

Since you just had it repaired...you will need to return it there and have
them re-do it
