Monitor and mouse not working

I turn on computer hard drive, blue light blinks a few seconds and stops.
Monitor shows safe mode & then goes blank. Red light on bottom of mouse does
not light up. All connections seem OK. Hard drive is running. I hear the fan.
Please help.

I am going to assume that when you say "computer hard drive" you really mean the basic tower with
all of the components.
It sound like you have a major problem with the main "System board" (called the mother board) in the
tower unit.
This system board configures all of the signals that go to your mouse, monitor, etc.
I expect you cannot get the keyboard lights to work either (try cap lock or Scroll lock keys)
You are going to have to take it to a reliable repair shop for evaluation. (not one of the big box
stores like BestBuy).
