moniter wont turn on

hi there i have just finnished building a computer and i
pluged everything in and pressed the on button it worked,
but the miniter didn't come on, i go through a ak77-600gn
motherbourd, with an added agp graphics card. the
computer will turn on but the monitor wont.



plus wilst iam here when i installed the floppy drive thr
power was always on ?????????

Second one is easy... you have the ribbon cable in upside down!

First one..... does the PC beep, and if so, count the number of beeps and
post back (and tell us whether it's Award or Ami BIOS).

Reseat the graphics card..... check cables from PC to monitor etc.
 
The monitor or the AGP video card might be bad.
Installing a floppy hot can wipe out the floppy controller as well as the
floppy. Worse case might be the motherboard as well.
Generall, I'd shut down (Power unplugged) And check to see if the video card
and other components are seated properly. Next, Assuming the monitor is
known good, I'd try the video card in another computer..
This does have some risk, so I'd use a non critical PC for this.
