Money back for Norton Antivirus?

S

Sørensen

Hi
For a lot of us who have paid for Norton Anti Virus 2002, it seems we have
lost out money.
The program shows the error:
\"An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 169
Char: 2
Error: Permission denied
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\\Progra~1\\Norton~1/Navui.dll/navstats.htm\"
Now (after a long period) Norton tells us to run "Live Update" a lot of
times. It does not work, it is nonsens. I can not recommand Norton Products
to anyone.
I seems impossible to get in contact with that compagnie. Can anyone
recommend a good alternative, I am willing to pay the price to be protected
against virus, and I want it very soon.
Thank you in advance

You get just 1 year for the subscription service. Once it expires, you
buy the next version of the product or buy another year's worth
subscription. Otherwise, you won't get any more subscription updates
(virus signatures and program updates). Your version 2002 is
unsupported for quite awhile now. If all you want to protect yourself
against were viruses that date back before the subscription ended then
you got the static product that you want. Viruses evolve, new ones show
up, and you'll have to pay to stay current if you want to continue using
a commercial product.

See http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft for a 1-year free subscription
(i.e., you can stay cheap for another year).

Hi, thank you for the answer. I have paid Nortorn for each subscription in
each year, - though it was difficult to do in a secure way from outside the
U.S., - but the product does not work, and (I know I am not the only one!)

I would uninstall Norton and use Avast. It's free and works well. None of
them are perfect, if you use something like mailwasher as well you'll be
pretty safe.

Did you pay for the new subscription less than 30 days ago? I know for
the full product you get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. I've used it
once and it was Symantec that told me about it when I was complaining
about an incompatibility (that was fixed only in their Pro version but
which I didn't want to buy). So give them a call if it is within 30
days of when you bought the subscription. Doesn't hurt to ask.
