Money 2006 Delux to new laptop using Vista

I recently purchased a new laptop that uses Vista. My other laptop used XP
and I used MS Money 2006 Delux. When I try to restore a backup file from my
MS 2006 to Money Essentials installed on the laptop with Vista, I get a
message that says "Money Essentials is unable to open files from other
versions. How am I supposed to transfer all those years of financial records
to the new laptop and the new version of MS Money? Has anyone run across the
same issue?

Not familiar with Money Essentials but I installed Money 2006 on my new PC
with Vista and it worked ok.

Nonetheless I would expect some sort of conversion feature should be built
in

Did some more research for you and you will not be able to import other
versions...Essentials is a basic entry level program for first time users.
