MODEM WONT DIAL

Hi have upgrdaed from Windows 98 to XP and cannot get modem to dial. The
modem is recognised by computer and diagnostics works, cable has been tested
as has line, but modem just wont dial.

Anyone any ideas

In some cases when upgrading to XP from an earlier version of Windows, XP
will have a problem loading the proper drivers and you will need to go to
the website of the modem manufacturer and download a driver for it, I have
in some cases gone to the device manager then the properties of the modem
and installed a generic driver and it will work fine.
