Modem Unavailable - Missing

Hopefully someone can help.

I used to run DSL and am trying to switch to dial-up. The modem and driver
is installed on Com 4. I queried the modem and it works. I am able to use
the make new connection wizard to create the dial-up connection. When it's
done, the dial up is greyed out and says the Modem is Unavailable - Missing
and it is pointing to Com 1. I disabled the DSL connection (it won't let me
delete it) which says it's on Com 1. Why doesn't the PC recognize my dial up
on Com 4. I tried switching it to Com 1 and that didn't work either. ANY
help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Doug

Uninstall the modem driver then reinstall it, to uninstall it go to device
manager double click the modem, go to driver tab and click uninstall driver,
then go to the modem website and download drivers for it
NOTE, to go to device manager: Go to Start/Right click 'My Computer'/Go to
'properties'/Hardware tab/click device manager.
