Modem Tries to Connect Despite DSL Connection

Hi,

I recently traveled with my laptop and was using my dial-
up connection. After I got back to my home office I
connected back into my DSL, but as I surf the web, my
modem continuously tries to dial-up (window pops up and
disrupts my DSL connection).

I have tried to disable the dial-up connection and the
modem itself. Neither worked.

Can anyone help this tech-illiterate stop this?

Thanks,
MattC

The Connection Settings in the browser (under the Tools Menu) is where this
is controlled. Set it to "Never dial a connection", then when ever you need
to use the dialup just activate the dialup yourself before opeing the
browser and you'll never have to worry about it. There are other options in
there as well, but this is the way I like it,...I have better control over
what happens this way.

Phillip,

You are the man! I looked for the resolution everywhere.
But, I use Netscape as my browser and that option is in
IE. I hit it and it seems to have solved the problem. I
never would have found it.

Thanks sooo much.
