MODEM PROBLEM

Hi Team:: Trying to connect to my ISP mostly fires an
error 797. Just to keep clicking does not work nether
does "Restart" my PC. BUT, leaving the PC closed down for
4 mins plus, then Internet does open 90% of time. Any
ideas about how I can fix, please? --- It is a Lucent
Win Modem.

Hi,

Get a new modem, this one is probably dying.

Test it if you like when it isn't working, start up hyperterminal and see
what it reports. You will find steps to take here:
