I have a Compaq Presario 56K-DF Modem that is supported by
Windows 2000 according to Microsoft Text. However, I
cannot find a driver for this modem that works on any
Windows Edition newer than 98. Any suggestions?

Bite the bullet, trash it, and buy an external _real_ modem. That will work
with any operating system. Cost should be $50-$100 Can. ($35-75US) (Make sure
the store that sells it to you tells you it's _not_ a "winmodem.")
