Modem and networks

I know you can share internet connections via modem over a network but can
you set the modem as a shared device?

ie

Modem setup on computer A
Computer B want's to use computer A's modem to dial a number and send data.
Computer A should be unaware of when this is happening except the modem
sprining into life

This is called Dial on Demand routing. Look that up in the MS
