hi
have 98-- XP dual boot.
was going to leave XP out of internet world, but now want
to hook it up.. 98 is already online.
is there a slick quick method using 98 modem?
do i need my modems drivers on disk or can XP just go
find them itself by looking at all the info 98 has.?
XP & 98 are both Fat32.

hoping for a smooth non-problematic answer..

XP may already have the drivers built in, but if not, you will either need
to download the latest or use the disk.

If XP automatically recognized the modem, the drivers would already be
installed, and you'd see the modem listed in Device Manager.

If XP doesn't automatically have the drivers, the 98 ones aren't going to
work -- you need XP drivers. If the modem is new enough, you might have XP
drivers on the CD. If not, you'll need to look on the manufacturer's website
to see if they have drivers available for download.
