MOD to MIDI convertor --reccomendations?--

Hello:

Do you remember the old MOD music files? These are similar to midi except
they have samples that it uses instead of an instremental bank. Mod files
also have the ability to use talking/words samples.

What I was wondering is if it is possible to convert a MIDI into a MOD file.

I have a nice mod file editor (mod tracker.. freeware) but I don't have a
midi file editor that is as nice to use as this mod editor is. I want to be
able to convert the midi into a mod and edit it with mod tracker (and add
sounds not supported by general midi).

Any assistance and recommendations greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

But that is exactly the other way round! Sorry, but that won't help the
OP.

I am afraid, there are no converters into MIDI, especially as there are
several tracker standards (xm, s3m, oct and so on), which do have
features which are hard to transfer into midi commands, like fades or
tremoloes. Also, a midified mod file would sound quite different from
the original. I'd rather turn them into mpg or ogg files, and store
them on a dvd.
