mobile applications course sample

I downloaded and installed the

2556 Course Sample: Learn to Build Mobile Applications
with Visual Studio and the .NET Compact Framework

However, I don't seem to be able to access it in any
way. I should see it in my help contents of Visual
Studio .NET, but it's nowhere to be found. In
my "Program Files" folder, I have a subfolder
called "2556 Course Sample", which contains
some .hxa, .hxc, .hxt, .hxk, .hxs files, as well as some
subfolders with the labfiles, but I can't find a way to
open any of those .hx* files.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled, to no avail.

Has anyone successfully installed and opened this course?

Hello,
Did you try "Search" panel and enter 2556?

Should be at the top level in "Contents" right below MSDN Library....

Just a thought (and I'm not familiar with the package in question) do you
have the Help viewer with a filter e.g. only to show Visual Basic topics. If
so try setting this to all topics and see if the content is visible.

I tried that, too. I also tried all possible filters.

The readme file says:

5. From the Help menu, choose Contents.
6. The Contents window opens and displays the
courseware. If the 2256 Course Sample does not display
change the "Filtered by:" to "(no filter)" or to "2556
Course Sample".
7. In addition to using the Help Contents window,
content can be found using the Help Index, Help Search,
and Dynamic Help windows. Read the course Introduction
for further guidance.

So accordingly, there should even be a filter
called "2556 Course Sample", which I don't see.

Now, is there any way to import or open any of the .hx*
files manually?

Make sure that you do not have visual studio open when you install the
sample. Just to be on the safe side I would close down all of your
applications, uninstall the app and then reinstall the app. When I
installed the sample, I saw exactly what you are seeing. To fix it I
uninstalled the sample, with everything closed and reinstalled with
everything closed.

I tried looking that the sample in MSDN, but it does not work in MSDN, you
must use your Visual Studio 2003. I tried that as well.

Once I installed it again with, then I opened Visual Studio2003 and walla,
I saw it right in the contents.

I hope this helps. Reply either way.
