MMVCP70.dll Error at bootup...

In trying to get XP updates I changed my Auto Update setting from disable to
auto... now I still can't get updates and when I reboot I get a MMVCP70.dll
is missing and reinstalling the program will correct this.... anyone know
what program it is for??? Also why can I not get the updates to work even
when set to auto? It's a 2 week old Dell computer so there isn't a ton of
applications or files on here yet for these problems...

Downloaded MMVCP70 dll from two different sites and neither worked so I
tracked the dll to Music match software dell sent with the computer and did
a reinstall and that took care of the problem... also found through some
research somehow a service needed for updates was unchecked... rechecked it
and all is fine now... thanks for the help Phillips

Hi Paul,

This has to do with Music Match. Start your troubleshooting from there.

As for updates: The only thing Windows Updates (WU) v5 demands is that the
Automatic
Updates (AU) *service* is running for WU to work. Go to Start/Run:
services.msc

If all is well there:

Windows Update Greyed Out - Restore (Line 179)

Good luck!
