mmc.exe application error

Every time I run mmc with any snap-in I get an application error 'The
memory could not be read' whenever I shut mmc down. This happens even
is I just run mmc from the command prompt with no snap-in.

Any ideas, it's very annoying.
 
I wanted to bump this because I was having the same problem, though mine
also occurs with windows media player.
Any help would be awesome.
