MM disappears!

Hi. I have an odd problem with my movie maker that just
started from out of the blue. Whenever I try to put
clips together on the timeline it works fine but if I
want to do something like fade a clip over another Movie
Maker literally just disappears off of my screen. No
error message, no freezing, no nothing the program is
just gone. It also happens when I try to add titles or
credits. Pretty much any time I try to do any of the
movie maker "extras" it flicks off but I can import or
add clips to the timeline and preview them with no
problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi There,

As you will see if you read the messages in this newsgroup your problem is
the most common to be found. A possible solution exists on the website
www.papajohn.org in the problem solving section. Look under acceleration
and codecs.

I have checked the papajohn's site and the only thing I
saw was to turn down hardware aceleration. But the
application is supposed to fuction with hardware
aceleration, if it doesn't then there is some thing wrong
with th app. Any way, when I turn H.A. off i still have
the problem, it does not matter if it is a captured video,
a video from file, or what type of file it is, when we try
to use any of the efects or transitions, the program
desapears.

On the Problem Solving... Acceleration and Codecs page it says to try
turning it down to the 3rd position, not to turn it off. If that doesn't
resolve it, then put it back up to where you had it originally.

The codecs are a more common issue. Have you checked them?
