MM closes when importing video

When I attempt to bring a video into MM by using "Import into collections"
and open the folder which contains the videos, MM closes. No error message,
no hesitation, its just gone. If this is a corruption problem, can SP2 be
used to repair only MM or must I do a complete reinstall of SP2?
