Mixing Exchange and POP mail servers w/OL3

We're using OL2003 in our office. We use Exchange 2000 for internal email
and an outside ISP POP3/SMTP for Internet email. When addressing mix email,
i.e., some recepients are internal and others are external, what is the
proper configuration for OL2003 so that the Exchange server takes just the
internal email and passes on the Internet email to the ISP?

This didn't seem to be a problem with OL2002. Now Exchange often kicks back
the POP mail as undeliverable since it doesn't recognize the address.

The simple solution would be to enable your Exchange server to send and
receive from the Internet. Failing that, you might try removing the SMTP
proxy addresses from the users in Exchange - that way Outlook won't try to
send to your internal users via SMTP, but would be forced to rely on their
Exchange addresses.
