Mixed up Keyboard

Some of the keys on my laptop keyboard are not functioning properly. For
example, the following is supposed to be an apostrophe: è. And this is what
I get when I want a question mark or slash: Éé.

Any idea how to fix thisÉ

THanks!

What keyboard language do you use? (Control Panel /
Regional Settings).

I set the language to ENGLISH-CANADA, and just in case tried ENGLISH-USA,
but it's still the same problem....HOWEVER, I seem to have no problem getting
the punctuation marks HERE in this internet browser; it's in the the word
processing program that it's still not working...

Thanks!

In this case you should post your question in the appropriate word
processing group, e.g. Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office!

Strange. Two weeks ago you reported that it only fails in
your word processing program. Now you say the opposite.
Please clarify!

You should also activate your keyboard language indicator
so that you can see at all times what keyboard language is
currently active. It's all in the Control Panel / Regional Settings.

I would like to report I am experiencing the same problem.

I just bought an Acer laptop, brand new, and it isnt working!!! I am at my
wits end. I dont want to return it, I checked out the regional settings, It
said Language English-Canada but I changed it to US just incase, I changed
the language bar on the startup bar to US english as well... to no avail. My
punctuation is pretty much messed up entirely, with the exception of colons
and semi colons, commas and periods, dashes and underscores. My extra
brackets, as I call them, like the ones used for BBCode dont work, and I am
dying her not able to use apostrophes! I hate having improper punctuation,
its killing me. lol.

Hi Jenn

You have the Canadian Multilingual Standard keyboard set :)

Go to Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Languages tab and
click on the Details button. Highlight the keyboard entry and click Add.
In the box that pops up make sure the Language is still set to English
(Canada) *but* for Keyboard Layout choose US, and OK. Now highlight the
Multilingual entry and click Remove. Apply and OK and you should be all
set :)

Let us know how you get on.
