mixed mode Exchange 5.5 Server 2003 exchange server connection

the last communication I read from that thread is

"If the ping is successful by FQDN can you log onto this machine and setup
an Outlook profile with say the Administrators login. Did the ipconfig
display the correct results"

I pinged the the FQDN and it did not display the correct results. Does
anyone have a next step for this?

Any help on this is much appreciated, our entire office is affected by
this...
