Have you checked Tools->email accounts->view or change existing
in the bottom left:
Deliver New e-mail to the following location
Is it set to the right place?
Not sure how it could have happened accidentally. Typically you'd have
to go in and manually set this.
the unread folder is just a virtual folder - a search folder. If the
messages aren't getting moved, try resetting your view - click on the row of
field names and choose Custom. Then Reset.
