I tried to install an Iogear 320GB drive (GHD335C320) on my computer (Dell
Dimensions 2400 running Windows XP, upgraded to SP2) and each time I do
(whether using the FireWire or USB connection), the computer can not find the
driver for the Iogear (the literature that came with the Iogear states that
no special drivers are required) and it is not installed. When I use another
computer (also Dell Dimensions 2400 running Windows XP, upgraded to SP2), the
drive installs without a problem. This leads me to believe that I am missing
some driver files on my computer. A system restore on the first computer did
not resolve the problem. When I insert the Windows CD that came with the
computer, I receive a message that "Setup cannot continue because the version
of Windows on your computer is newer than the version on the CD." Is there a
way to repair or restore missing driver files (assuming that is my problems)
without reinstalling Windows on my computer? Can somebody suggest any
solution for my problem (i.e., a way to install the Iogear)? Thank you.
