Missing User In GAL

M

Mr. JYC

Hello,

We are having an issue where we have a user who has Outlook 2003 SP3 and is
unable to see certain email accounts in the GAL. Everyone else is able to
see the email accounts in the GAL. We are thinking this issue is localized
to the machine she is on. We do not have administrative priveleges to the
Exchange server. Could this be a missing file or registry setting or
something that is local to the machine?

Is Outlook 2003 running in cached mode? If yes, close Outlook and then
delete the *.OAB files found at:

\documents and settings\<userid>\local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook

Start Outlook. Download the offline address book and then check to see if
the entry can be seen. If it can't at this point, then my first question
for the missing entry is... is entry new (<24 hours).

Another thing you can try if Outlook is to turn cached mode off. This will
cause Outlook to talk directly with Exchange/Active Directory rather than
use the *.OAB files.
