Missing some graphics?

On some websites I have a blank outlined box with a small
boxed red X where a graphic should be. The text is
present. Most of the time I receive the pictures but
other times I get the blank box. It seems more noticable
when the pictures are referenced to in instructions.
Do I need to enable some other form of graphics?

Have you got any ad-blocking software running?
My firewall (Outpost Firewall) blocks ad-pictures based on the picture's
name - it filters name with ad, adserv etc in their title.
