Missing Security Certif Causing Inaccessible Impt Files

i recently just got my main HDD formatted thus loosing all main data. However
i did an encyrption on a few folders on my storage HDD which these files i'm
unable to access anymore due to the difference in the security cert. it
appears error code 5 each time i tries to add my current certif in. i got a
Access is denied each time i tries to remove encryption.

somebody shed some light in this?

The EFS private key used to decrypt files is stored in your user profile on
the operating system where the files were encrypted and unless you made a
backup of it to a password protected .pfx file so that you can import it
into the new operating system you will not be able to decrypt the files
since formatting the drive that contained your old operating system most
likely destroyed your old user profile. If you have a backup of your user
profile from a point in time after you encrypted those files you may be able
to use a third party utility to try and detect and access the EFS private
keys to access your files if you know the password for the user account
used.

Did you back up your EFS certificate before you wiped everything?
Several posts on this news group regarding this, but if you did not back
up the key, or backup the previous use profile, you are out of luck

Nope i did not back them up that's why i'm having a headache now.. Thanks
