Hi, Can anyone tell me how to re-install the run command
in the start menu?
It's not available in the settings/taskbar menu advanced
options.

Thanks

try
Start
Run
type
gpedit.msc
click OK

<Group Policy opens>

navigate to

User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Start Menu & Taskbar

right hand panel option

Remove Run menu from Start Menu

by default its set to

Not Configured

Explanation from the option:

"Removes the Run command from the Start menu and removes the New Task
(Run) command from Task Manager. Also, users with extended keyboards can
no longer display the Run dialog box by pressing Application key (the
key with the Windows logo) + R.

This policy affects the specified interface only. It does not prevents
users from using other methods to run programs."

hit CTRL + ALT + DEL and run task manager. Once in task manager, click
"file" on the menu. Once you click "File", you will see "New Task
(run)". Try running gpedit.msc and see if you have the run command on
the start menu disabled. To find out whether or not you have the run
command disabled, go to:

Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -> Administrative
Templates -> Start Menu & Taskbar -> Remove run from the start menu

..... sorry about that .... run the gpedit.msc from a CMD prompt :o)
