I have missing Registry Keys. Where can I dwnld them, or is there a way that
windows can scan and replaced them for Win XP Home Edition. My recycle bin is
also missing. Have attempted a search, but is not located.
Would appreciate any assistance.

OK, first of all, my recycle bin is missing. I attempted to do a search and
there is no recycle bin. Dwnlded some direction for recovery and it stated
to look in particular registry's. I don't know which ones they were right off
the top of my head, but when going to the registrys, in explorer, the
registrys are not there.

Also, when my pc is booting, it will not always boot up. instead it the
screen will apear black with the blinking cursor in the top left. It will not
respond to anyting. Have put the drivers CD in and then reboot it. Have
dwnlded drivers and still have the same problems. Once th pc boots, it goes
directly to all the folders instead of the usual desktop.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View,
Advanced Settings and verify that the box before "Show hidden files and
folders" is checked and "Hide protected operating system files " is
unchecked. You may need to scroll down to see the second item. You
should
also make certain that the box before "Hide extensions for known file
types"
is not checked. Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is
selected
and then select View, Choose Details and check before Name, Type, Total
Size, and Free Space.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

There may well be Error Reports in Event Viewer. Please post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.
