Missing Power Off Icon on Welcome Screen

Griff

I have 2 PC's at home both running Windows XP Home Edition. Both fully up to
date with Service Packs and updates.

On one of the PC's there is an Icon on the Welcome Screen with an option to
turn off the PC without logging on to a User account but strangeley this is
missing on the other PC.

I understand XP Prof has a local security policy which can be set but have
not foundanywehere within XP home to set this option to on or off.

Any help greatly received

Go to Start,then Run
type secpol.msc,
Expand Local policies, in that go to security options and on the right side, find "Shutdown:Allow system to be shut down...." and then double on that..
make it enable.....
Thats over...You may now check on th login screen
