Missing or corupt file Window root\system32\hal.dll

I find that when trying to use the instal C.D my computer will not accept it
due to being out of date now what can I do. Grif
 
My guess is that the OP is not booting from the CD, but instead is
trying to run the install from inside Windows. Her/his install CD
contains an earlier version of Windows (probably due to the service
pack) than the currently installed version.
