Missing or corrupted driver ?

My cdr/rw drive is not being reconised now. Have tried unstall & reinstall +
update driver to no avail . All was ok last week when i burnt off a data cd
& loaded some photos 5 days ago. The only software i added was media player
11 so reverted back to 10. No hardware was added. Any help much appriciated I
have no idea at all
