Missing or corrupt system32\drivers\isapnp.sys

After doing a Microsoft update I encountered this error.
When I attempted to repair the file using the repair
option I get access denied. I am running XP pro
 
Thanks for your suggestion but still nothing there to
address this issue. I did not play or install a game on my
system. All I did was update a Microsoft patch!

Just where from you updated? If not from Microsoft's own

web site, e.g through email, you might got yourself a
virus.
