Hi PJ,
Make sure this machine is Virus/malware free then Turn OFF your Anti-Virus
and try the Copy to the :
C:\Windows\System32\drivers.

Read this:
"Missing or corrupt Ntfs.sys" error message when you restart Windows XP
after you convert your hard disk to the NTFS file system
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822800

HTH.
Let us know.

Can't get into XP full stop because of the NTFS.sys error, so therefore can't
do virus/malware check!

As I has said, followed the instructions to replace NFTS.sys file and
rebooted and nothing!

BTW I am using my own PC this is a problem for my friend who has Dell PC
with Dell own included XP cd so nt a problem, just need any advice I can try
before going for a full reformat as she has literally thousands of file that
need to be backup up as well as her full business online shop emails to be
backup!

I want to try all possible means of restoring the systems without a full
reformat! Might try the restore option did read it on MS site somewhere
about doing a restore from recovery console!

Thanks, PJ

Hi PJ,
Well, my advise to you, to hook her HDD as salve or with a USB enclosure to
your Computer or any other computer (best if you scan before copying) and
rescue Her Data first before doing any thing to the HDD to be safe.
Then try the System restore by typing this command in the prompt on the
Recovery Console:
%SystemRoot\System32\Restore\rstrui.exe Hit [Enter..] on your Keyboard
and let it restore and it will reboot.
BTW. Tell her after all of that, she need to perfrom a backUp to her data to
keep copy of her data to not lose it in such an awkward situation like this.
HTH.
Let us know.
Good luck.

Thanks for that Nass, however now have a new problem!

Just installed SATA VIA Raid controller fro her hard drive to my PC, however
in her pc she didn't have a power leads, and now my pc can't see her hard
drive! Think it down to the power cable needed not sure. BUt it is
detecting a driver letter for it! Click on that drive give no device or
/folder error.

Cos I htink I may have to do a full reformat by the way things are looking up!

Thanks, PJ
