missing or corrupt file windows\system32\config\system

error message after boot. 'missing or corrupt file
windows\system32\config\system ' have oem xp pro. put xp start up disc but
error still appears. went into setup and changed boot to cd first.no change.
got into safe mode screen but will not let me start in safe mode or last good
config.still get same error message. cannot acess cd to get onto restore mode.

thanks Bruce the fix states that ' do not use this procedure if you have an
oem installed operating system' . do I have any option other than this fix.
