Missing of Normal.dot

I have Microsoft Word 2007 installed on my computer. When I double click the
Word, it opens normally. After I finish editing the document and want to save
it, a message box pops out asking me if I want to save it as a new document
(wired, it is supposed to ask me for the directory and file name, but it
doesn't). If I click "yes", nothing happens, if I click "no", the Word exits
without saving the change.

I also did a little trouble shooting. After I open Visual Basic for
Application Editor in Word, the Normal template is missing. The only project
I can see if TemplateProject (Powerword) and I can't get into the project. I
went to check out the Macros in the Normal.dot, but wired things happened
again. The Normal.dot appears in the name of Normal.dotm.

After all these, I decided it reinstall Word. I didn't work after that so I
tried to restore my laptop. Unfortunately I still have no luck. Is there
anyone can help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

The Normal template in Word 2007 is called Normal.dotm. I don't understand
all of what you say, but if you are experiencing strange happenings, the
first thing to do is disable Powerword, and any other AddIns you have to see
if one of those is responsible. If you start Word in safe mode (Press and
hold Ctrl while starting Word), do you still have problems?

Thanks a lot. Everything works just fine if I start Word in the safety mode.
How should I disable the Powerword? Thanks in advance.

You will probably find it in the Word Startup folder which is usually
located in:

For Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup

For Vista

C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup

Move it to another folder and see if that overcomes the problem.

See the article "How to find out whether any Word Add-ins have been
installed" at:
