missing ntldr and hal.dll file

My computer wont work and I get the message my NTLDR is missing then another screen comes up and says {windows root}\system32\hal.dll. is missing. Reinstall. The problem I have is my windows xp was preinstalled and it didnt come with any recovery cds. So where can I find this file or help. thanks
