Missing My Computer in Windows XP

Hi

I'm not sure what's going on with my PC. I seem to have lost My
Computer from Explorer. Sometimes it appears, sometimes not. When it
is listed in the left panel of Windows Explorer, there are no drives
listed in the main pane (such as drive name, total size, free space
etc). Also when saving documents, there are normally some shortcuts
to My Documents, and My Computer on the left hand side, but once again
it's missing from there. It's really becoming quite frustrating!

It should also appear on my start menu as a link but it doesn't. Also
when customising my desktop I have three tick boxes listed:

My Documents
My Network Places
My Computer

My Computer is disabled out and unchecked.

So far I've run a full Kaspersky virus check which came back clean, I
ran S&D and the only thing that found were some tracking cookies.

I used TweakUI to restore broken icons but that hasn't worked either.

I'm at a complete loss as to what to try next and was wondering if
anyone here could help me?

Many thanks
