Missing MFU List in Start Menu

The MFU list that appears below the snap-ins on the windows-xp-style start menu has disappeared off my main profile. It still functions properly in all other user profiles. Making use of this list frequently, I've tried all I can find to bring it back. I have rebooted, checked both

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore
an
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore

for occurances of the NoStartMenuMFUprogramsList policy. I've tried switching back to the classic start menu, running programs, switching back, registering shell32.dll and browseui.dll, and rebooting, all to no avail. (see prevoius thread here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...eral&mid=a9d5e9c4-dc70-436f-b4ff-04ce9bb11c58) Does anyone have any other ideas as to how to bring this list back

Thanks in advance.

People who clean it by hand can end up like this (I don't remember the exact details). Copy another users registry settings over at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage

I think it's when the key is deleted rather than just the contents.

Thanks
I copied those settings from an account with a working MFU list from this same computer, but unfortunately it still didn't work. Any other ideas

MrWonton,
Are you using MRUBlaster? If you are,on the MRUBlaster program settings
page, uncheck Windows UserAssist MRUs (it's in the left row - fifth down ).
Your most recently used programs list will be rebuilt as usual.

Now clear the list in Start Menu - Properties. I don't remember the exact thing to do as it was a couple of years ago. Took me a couple of weeks to work out how to fix.

I tried clearing the list, reverting back to the classic start menu, but I could find no combination of these and the imported registry settings that worked

No, I'm not using that or any other tool for removing MRUs. I can't imagine that getting it would help

MrWonton,
Have you checked this registry key where (15) is the maximum number of
programs listed on my own computer ?

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanc
ed]
"Start_MinMFU"=dword:0000000a (15)

If this doesn't help, I have no other solutions to try. I went through this
same process last summer until I found that MRUBlaster had been checked to
delete the list. I'm watching this thread to see if Mr. Candy or someone
else comes up with the solution.

It was set to 6. I upped the value to 15, but it didn't seem to make a difference, unfortunately
Thank
