Missing Messages on Importing PST file

Mark Jobes

Hi Guys,

Having a real problem (and strange one) I have commissioned a new PC - Vista 64bit - office 2007 enterprise. The old machine has office 2007 installed as well. I have exported all of outlooks information from the old pc to a .pst file. I have imported the .pst file into the new installation and all appeared to be well at first - however on examination there are no emails in my inbox newer than 11/04/2008 but I have emails from today in my junk email box!! The messages all appear in the old installation so should by rights be in the pst file for import but messages after the date above are in every folder apart from my inbox. Any help really appreciated.

Regards

Mark

Simply copy the origonal pst to eg Vista Documents folder, then within OL
open that pst.
What you do then depends on your requirements, and possible how much data is
contained in the data file that was first set up on the new PC

Now you see why we post here every day that exporting and importing are
never the correct way to transfer Outlook data. You already had a PST file.
Just copy that file and open it in the other installation.
