missing mac address

my son is trying to get his MAC or physical address, to get on to
network, he typed in all the commands, ipconfig /all , getmac, etc bu
all that shows is documents and settings, there is a network card i
the laptop, we tried programmes like Everest and Baroc and a few othe
ones to no avail. when he first got it ist showed two tv sreens with
cross through them, its not there now since a re-format have we misse
something? thanks Adria

It sounds like maybe the drivers for the NICs are not loaded. In Device
Manager, under Network Adapters, do you see the NIC? Is there any error on
the icon?
